Located at Viale del Vignola 28, the Hotel Villa
Glori is situated in the exclusive Parioli area;
considered Rome’s most exclusive residential area. The Parioli
neighbourhood is found to the north of the historical centre. The
Stadio Flaminio is situated close to the hotel and plays
host to all of Italy’s home rugby games, particularly during
the popular Six Nations tournament.
The Villa Glori is well connected to the centre and various Roman
landmarks via excellent public transport services. Via Flaminio
is the main thoroughfare running from the end of Viale del Vignola
to Piazza del Popolo. The number 2 tram operates along
this street.
Rome’s two famous football teams, AS Roma and SS Lazio, play
their football matches at the Stadio Olimpico (Foro
Italico) which is also located fairly close to the hotel. Tickets
cost 15-70 Euros depending on the match and can be bought from the
ticket office at the ground, the club shop at Piazza Colonna or
from agencies such as Orbis at Piazza Esquilino.
The beautiful Villa Borghese Park is close to
Piazzale Flaminio and was once the estate of Cardinal Scipione
Borghese. There are many entrances but a popular route is through
Pincio Hill. It is the ideal place to have a picnic or
take children. The Galleria Borghese holds some
of the most important artwork in Rome; Roman floor mosaics, classical
statuary, Bernini’s spectacular carvings, Caravaggio paintings,
masterpieces by Veronese, Botticelli, Rubens and Raphael.

How to reach us
Rome has two major airports, Fiumicino (also known
as Leonardo Da Vinci) and Ciampino. From Fiumicino
Airport the best option to get to the centre is by the Leonardo
Express train which runs to Stazione Termini. From Ciampino Airport
there are infrequent Cotral buses (operating from 5.45am to 10.30pm)
which will take you to Anagnina Metro station. The metro will then
take you to Stazione Termini. If you wish to go directly to the
hotel you can stay on the metro and get off at Flaminio. There are
also various private coach services which run from Ciampino to Stazione
Termini daily. Schiaffini is the cheapest at € 5 one way.
From Stazione Termini take the metro on line A (Anagnina-Ottaviano)
to Flaminio. On arriving at Flaminio take the tram along Via
Flaminia. Get off the tram at Piazzale Manila just
before the Stadio Flaminio and head west (to the left of
the tram line). Walk along Viale del Vignola and you will
find the hotel at number 28. |
